Stardust Sonnet
Joni serenades as we drive Highway One.
The ocean stretches to the end of sky.
The troubles of our times amount up to none
When Mother Nature hits you straight in the eye.
We park and stop for green gold on Moonstone Beach
Digging and pulling back the gravel by hand
Feldspar, jade and quartzite appear within reach…
Opalescent gems beneath layers of sand.
Gaia does not care for whom we desire,
Nor who we think should be the king of the world
Turn off the box, it is a God Damned Liar.
Wake to the truth and unravel the furl.
Release it all, and let your heart not harden
We stardust are already in the garden.

Story:
On a quickie summer break to get away from the Las Vegas heat – driving up the California coast…. Realized that when Joni Wrote “Woodstock” later performed and made fmaous by the group, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, she was looking at it all wrong. She was writing we got to find our way back. All she had to do was look around and focus on the good, and she would have realized she was already there.
Also this was in light of the current political conditions where there is so much hate going around. And I actually see more hate directed from the Left to the Right than visa versa. Com’on Left wingers – are YOU supposed to be the party of peace and love? then why all this Dump Donald Trump talk? Lastly, the recent debates on the LGBTQ hullabuloo of transgender folks using single sex bathrooms is what initially sparked the poem. Such a ridiculous false flag story to cover up other news. Gaia Goddess really just wants us to be loving no matter whom we curl around with at the end of the night. PLUS, we should all just be peeing on the trees anyways!
