Nature’s Will
She is strong
She is a survivor
Cut her down
She will be back
Just give her time
She will overcome all.
It’s nature’s will:
Nature’s will to live.
She can adjust to time
Spent messing around in her home
Because time is on her side
Push her around
Dump on her
But remember
She’s one strong woman
She can’t be held down
She can’t be held back
She’ll knock the walls down
And send man back a million years.

Story
Walking in Sherman Oaks on the way home by the 405 Freeway. Looking at how within a short period of time the weeds spring up through the sidewalk cracks, slowly moving what should be impenetrable material aside via a thin little blade of green carbon.
Saw this building in Detroit, MI… an apartment that had been sitting there for years in disrepair and now the vines were taking over. Perfect accompaniment to my poem!
